Caregiver Support Group

Our caregiver support group is designed to connect people caring for their person who is dying with other caregivers for peer-to-peer support. Hospice staff and volunteers facilitate the group to be able to help participants connect with resources.

Children and Teen Support

Hospice Peterborough believes strongly in supporting children and teens who are living in a family situation with someone who is dying. In order to meet the immediate needs of children and teens Hospice arranges one-to-one support or small group support as appropriate. Hospice staff can also help the family link with other community supports.

Wellness Support

Young woman with older woman in wheelchairPalliative Care supports people to focus on living until the end-of-life. Wellness supports are focused on helping you to live the best quality of life. Wellness programming includes volunteers offering Complimentary Therapies such as Reiki and Therapeutic Touch. Mindful Meditation is a twice monthly program to help people learn about and practice meditation. Other single topic sessions may be offered, watch the Hospice Highlighter and social media for workshops.

Mindful Nourishment

Mindful Nourishment is a bi-monthly program accessible via videoconference from any quiet location. This group aims to teach and practice mindfulness through meditation, helping participants focus on the present and calm their minds. Mindfulness offers numerous health benefits, such as relaxation, stress reduction, pain management, and enhanced well-being. Each session is unique, allowing you to join as your schedule permits without needing to follow a series. Sessions typically take place on the second and fourth Thursday of each month from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Note that holidays may affect the schedule. Upon registration, you will receive a reminder and a link to the session in the week it occurs. To register, please email admin@hospicepeterborough.org.
