Hospice Peterborough offers the best possible support to individuals and families living with or affected by life-threatening illness and grief.
Our programs and services are offered completely free of charge to residents of all ages living in the City and County of Peterborough. At Hospice Peterborough, our staff and volunteers are committed to actively listening and providing non-judgmental support with respect for personal choices no matter the type or stage of life-threatening illness or grief. We embrace diversity and welcome individuals from all walks of life, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, ability, age, socio-economic background, or cultural heritage, as we believe every person deserves compassionate care during challenging times.

Admission to the Hospice Residence is not tied to participation in Hospice community programs.
Hospice palliative care aims to relieve suffering and improve the quality of living and dying. It strives to help individuals and families to:
- address physical, psychological, social, spiritual and practical issues, and their associated expectations, needs, hopes and fears
- prepare for and manage end-of-life choices and the dying process
- cope with loss and grief
- treat all active issues and prevent new issues from occurring
- promote opportunities for meaningful and valuable experiences, and personal and spiritual growth
The term hospice palliative care is often used interchangeably with palliative care.
